Bridget & David

Bridget and David converted their front lawn into a "mini-farm" with four long rows of vegetables in front of the house and a perennial garden of fruit trees, edible flowers, rhubarb, currants, and more on the far side of the rows and side of the house.

In the backyard, they have two raised vegetable/fruit beds, a line of fruit trees and currants along the back fence, trellises for thornless boysenberries and kiwis along the remaining walls, tepee trellises for beans (and fun for the kids), and a spiral herb garden made from brick. The backyard herb and vegetable gardens surround a small grass yard that they kept for their kids to run around on.

A representative from Oakland-based non-profit Planting Justice, who designed Bridget and David's garden, will be on hand during the tour to answer questions.

First year on the tour.
