Hiram's Make-Every-Inch-Count Garden

"They talk about square-foot gardening.  This is more like square-inch gardening," Hiram said.  Calling himself a compulsive grower, he gardens in a series of containers and planters that fill to overflowing his small front yard, as well as the side of the driveway, and the side of the house.  He grows a wide range of food plants, mostly unusual varieties, and almost always from seed, though he's skilled at other types of propagation as well. He also grows flowers, both in containers and in the planting strip between street and sidewalk.

Hiram's tiny but bountiful garden is inspiring, and he's got a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer too, since he's been gardening in the area for more than thirty years.

2nd year on the tour.
