Maria & Christopher

Last year, these homesteaders got rid of the ivy in the sloping front yard and after cardboard mulching the area, installed  steps and planted mostly natives and drought tolerant plants, olive trees and cherry trees.

In the back, they also removed ivy from the hill and have planted plum, peach and apple trees, lavender and salvia and pumpkins. The back also includes raised veggie boxes. They recently enlarged the run for their four 3-year-old hens, who nest in an attached Eglu. Solar panels on house roof.

First year on the tour.
